Top Model E8 Recap

Photobucket
Episode 8: Interview 101
The girls meet Ant and Lara Spencer from The Insider to learn interview skills. With the aim of teaching them to think on their feet, Ant makes life difficult for the models by acting out celebrity interview stereotypes. Ann Shoket arrives and informs them that they will be interviewing Jessica Lowndes as their challenge. To make things harder, their autocues are deliberately cut mid-interview. Jennifer and Erin shine with their improv, while Laura's dyslexia causes her to clam up, and Nicole struggles to ask appropriate questions. Erin wins the challenge and chooses Rae and Jennifer to share in her win - an editorial spread for Seventeen.
This week's photo shoot is replaced with a commercial for CoverGirl. The girls write their own scripts and Erin finishes quickly, while Laura and Nicole have a hard time and spend hours practicing. Again Jennifer shines, but Erin has to continually fight back tears, while Laura pushes through despite struggling with her learning difficulty.
At panel, Jennifer and Nicole are praised, while Brittany delivers all of her lines flawlessly but fails to show her personality. Sundai and Laura are told they have written good scripts but castigated for their poor delivery. Ultimately Rae and Erin land in the bottom two; Erin for her incessant crying on-set, and Rae for fading into the background amongst the other girls. Erin is told she has more potential, and with that Rae is eliminated.

Sunday Night Precap (18/10/09) & Update

The Simpsons:
Season 21, Episode 4: Treehouse of Horror 20 (20th anniversary)
Tree House of Horror 20
Traditional horror movie characters such as Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy, the Wolf Man, and Dracula roam the streets of Springfield on Halloween night. After they are taunted by Dolph (dressed as Black Spider-Man), Jimbo (dressed as Master Chief), and Kearney (dressed as The Joker from The Dark Knight), they get new, more modern costumes from a Halloween store (Dracula as Iron Man, Frankenstein's Monster as Spongebob Squarepants, the Mummy as Jack Sparrow, and the Wolf Man as Harry Potter). They then go to an adult Halloween party thrown by Homer and Marge, but are soon confronted by their wives. Homer tries to intervene as the wives begin to assault their husbands, only to be decapitated. Homer's head falls into a bowl of punch when an "X" appears on each of his eyes. "Treehouse of Horror" appears over his eyes that read "XX", summing up to "Treehouse of Horror XX", the title of the episode.
Dial M for Murder or Press "#" to Return to the Main Menu
This segment is shown in black and white. After being sent to detention by Ms. Hoover for disrupting class, Lisa wants revenge. Bart hatches a "criss-cross" plan and tells Lisa that if she pulls a "ding-dong ditch" Mrs. Krabappel, he'll do the same to Ms. Hoover. Lisa thinks this means ringing the bell at Mrs. Krabappel's apartment and leaving. However, Bart soon reveals that he meant for her to kill Mrs. Krabappel, as Bart has killed Ms. Hoover. Bart attempts to coax Lisa into killing Mrs. Krabappel with a paper cutter, but she relents. She then tries to kill Bart with a knife, beginning in a chase sequence parodying several Alfred Hitchcock films, particularly Spellbound and Strangers On a Train. Bart finally finds shelter at a crowded playground carousel, but is left at Lisa's mercy when the other children leave to get ice cream. Lisa, however, says she'll never be a murderer, and attempts to throw the knife away. It cycles over, though, and impales Bart through the forehead. Lisa and Mrs. Krabappel walk away smiling.
Don't Have a Cow, Mankind
Krusty the Clown introduces a new version of his Krustyburger, the Burger2, made from cattle that have eaten other cattle in their feed. Upon eating a burger on live television, Kent Brockman becomes undead and begins biting everyone around him, triggering a zombie apocalypse. Twenty-eight days later, Springfield has become overrun by zombies, with the Simpsons being one of the few survivors. Bart escapes from his family's barricaded house and eats one of the burgers, but turns out to be immune to its effects. The Simpsons are attacked by the zombified townsfolk but are saved by Apu, driving an armored off-road truck. The group tries to leave Springfield, but Apu winds up crashing the truck over a pile of smashed cars. Leaving Apu behind, the Simpsons drive on but run out of gas, walking the rest of the way to a so-called "safe zone." During their journey, Homer is bitten by a zombie Mr. Burns, thus turning him into a zombie himself. The family decide not to kill him in the hopes of finding a cure. They reach the safe zone, where Bart -- being immune to the zombie virus -- is worshipped as the "chosen one". However, the people there believe that cannibalizing Bart will save them from the virus. The Simpsons, however, think of another solution: vaccinating the remaining populace by having Bart bathe in their food before eating it.
There's No Business Like Moe Business
In Broadway musical style, Moe is lonely and upset that he doesn't have a girlfriend and is jealous when he sees Homer and Marge together. When Homer falls into the basement of the bar and is impaled by pipes, his blood becomes the secret ingredient in Moe's new beer. Everyone loves this new beer, saying that it makes them feel warm, secure and cozy on the inside. Moe uses this to his advantage and woos Marge, tricking her into thinking that Homer walked out on her and is gay. Homer emerges, alive, despite being impaled by Moe's microbrew machine and hurls Moe across the room (or rather a giant sack doll of Moe), and gets back together with Marge. At the end, the entire Simpsons cast comes out, singing to the audience hoping that they enjoyed this episode.

The go-sees include an audition for a commercial, which most of the girls fail at, except for Nicole, who is eager to make-up for her previous bad week. The photo shoot have the girls pose as martial artists with the weapon of their choice. Most of the girls struggle with the harness they have to wear. At panel, Nicole, Laura, Brittany, Erin and Jennifer are praised, while Sundai is once again castigated for over-accessorizing her outfit and lacking versatility. Home Adrone
he family takes a trip to look at a potential college for Hayley, leaving Steve to watch over the house. When his friends arrive and realize he has the run of the house, they persuade Steve to break the rules. Going into Stan's study (which he explicitly forbade Steve from entering), they discover a briefcase containing flight controls and believe it is a video game. They play with it for a while before realizing that the console is actually controlling an unmanned military drone (which resembles the MQ-1 Predator but with twin tilt-rotors). They crash the aircraft, but Snot brings it to a mechanic he could trust not to ask questions. Stan returns, having been barred from the plane for leaving to get a magazine in the terminal (even his CIA badge failed to get him in), to find that Steve has betrayed his trust and thrust them into a high-level security situation: if the CIA finds out the drone is missing, then they'll cut off Stan's buttocks. They go to the body shop but the Chinese Mafia had taken the drone as payment for the mechanic's debts, only to sell it to a man for a parade. Stan accidentally informs them that the drone cost 50 million dollars, compelling them to get it back, as well as attack him. Steve calls Stan on his cell phone and tells him to get on the drone, as he remotely controls it away from the parade. This is just the start for Steve to regain his father's confidence.

Meanwhile, Roger dresses up as a young girl named Katelyn on the flight. When the drone flies over, the plane is grounded and Roger finds himself unable to drink because of his disguise, so he dresses up as Stan. When the air marshal notices that "Katelyn" is missing, he refuses to let the plane take-off and threatens to kill a passenger every minute. Francine and Hayley pleads Roger to get back in his girl costume but he is so drunk and into his persona that he's forgotten he was Katelyn. When he realizes this, he dresses as the girl again. However, as the plane taxis for take-off, the drone flies over and they are grounded again; Hayley swears at the top of lungs at this.

In another side story, Steve had accidentally crashed the drone onto a squirrel, who happened to be the President of the squirrel community. The Vice-President takes over, and announces his first act as President is to investigate the contents of a neighboring bird feeder.

Danny gets mad and reveals in front of Bob that their family has "deep dark secrets" that they cannot discuss with anyone. Nick suggests they change their names again and move but Angie does not want to put Danny through that again. One night, Lynette sees Susan hiding in her car with a camera. Lynette reminds her that everyone thought Porter was the one who set the club fire but Susan knows she is right about Danny. While Danny is fixing a friend's car, Susan confronts him and starts to lower the car down on top of Danny so Angie threatens to kill her if she goes near Danny again. Susan angrily tells her that she cannot protect her son forever and will pay for what he did to Julie. Mike found out from Bob that the police have evidence that clears Danny because security footage shows Danny sitting at a bar drinking beer for over an hour.

Porter reminds them that they just ruined their future because once the baby is born Tom will not have time for college and Lynette will have to quit her job. Unfortunately, Roger's criticisms of certain things like the food or dusty floors gets the servants killed, forcing Stan to trick Roger into signing the treaty pre-emptively. However, Roger finds out about the plot when he double checks the parchment. Tired of being used by Stan, he decides to continue posing as the general and have Stan deported. He then starts commanding the people of Isla to paint the island yellow, but wasn't satisfied when it was half done and wanted it repainted turquoise. However, the populace grows agitated, preparing an impending revolution. As the CIA had no interest in stopping it, Stan realizes that using people is wrong and goes back to Isla to warn Roger. Unfortunately, he believes that Stan is going to use him again and throws him out of the palace, just as the revolution starts. Thinking quickly, Stan brings out the real general's corpse and calls out the rioters that their quarry is escaping. Rachel goes blank when asked about her musical background. After the meetings, Sean shocks the girls by eliminating Rachel in a surprise elimination for her lack of charisma.

The girls then meet a rude photographer asking for the perfect shot in one take, which the girls struggle with until Tyra arrives and "defeats" him. She then coaches the girls on their "smize" (smiling with their eyes), which gets Jennifer worried because of her eyelid ptosis and directs a challenge where the girls are in full body suits, paired up and pitted against each other to see who has the best smize. The winners (Bianca, Brittany, Courtney, Kara, Laura, & Lulu) go to dinner with Sean Patterson, while the losers wash the dishes.

Next, the girls pose topless with a jockey and a horse. At panel, Erin, Brittany, Laura and Nicole all impress the judges with their shots while Ashley is castigated for overposing and Bianca, despite her resolve not to complain, hints that she didn't like her wig. This lands her in the bottom two again but she is spared for the second time as Courtney is sent home for admitting that being asked to keep her boot hindered her performance, and for self-defeating.

Back at the house, Nicole bonds with Bianca as the latter reveals her fear of showing vulnerability due to her abusive past. Ashley and Lulu later warn Nicole that she is being used, upsetting her. Nicole and Brittany then discuss their chagrin, calling Ashley a mean-girl and Lulu her sidekick.

At the photo shoot, Brittany struggles with the fact that the girls are allowed to watch her, while Bianca has to be distracted to look softer. At panel, Kara, Nicole and Erin receive unanimous praise, whereas Brittany, Rae and Laura are castigated for making themselves look shorter. Sundai is praised for her picture but her outfit and lack of presence on the runway do not sit well with Miss J. Laura and Kara are the first to be eliminated, followed by Nicole and Jennifer and Brittany and Rae. At the last stop the girls have to pick their pictures from a bin. Erin keeps Ashley's picture until she finds her own, eliminating Ashley. Ultimately Sundai wins to have her picture on Wal-Mart's website and a $1,000 gift from CoverGirl.

On the way to the photo shoot, Bianca and Ashley confront Erin about her behavior at the challenge, making her cry. The girls find Tyra wrapped in scarves and explains that they will be modeling scarves and the best picture will be given immunity at panel. Erin, Rae and Sundai perform well, while Ashley struggles a lot and has to change outfit three times. Meanwhile, Tyra decides to bring in a fan to improve Laura's performance and Jennifer tries screaming. Brittany is deemed the best and is given immunity as well as the opportunity to do a shoot with two male models.

At panel, many girls get good reviews and Jennifer is lauded by Tyra for bringing personality in her shoot, while Kara is chastised for not bringing any to hers. Ultimately Ashley lands in the bottom two for her poor performance but Bianca's third appearance in the bottom two in three panels is her undoing.

Episode 6: Dance With Me

The girls meet Benny Ninja, who tells them that as models, they must use their bodies as well as their faces to convey emotions. He brings out Lil Mama and Jabbawockeez to teach the girls to dance. The girls then learn that they will perform in groups of three, with masks covering their faces while showing happiness, sadness and anger. Jennifer, Rae and Kara work well together and win $17,000 in jewelry.

The girls are flown to Las Vegas for their shoot. They witness a perfomance by Jay Manuel and the Cirque du Soleil and learn that they will be posing in teams (Brittany, Jennifer and Rae going first; Erin, Nicole and Sundai second and Ashley, Kara & Laura going last). Jennifer, Kara, Ashley and Nicole get bad reviews, but Jennifer's group saves her and she is called jointly first. He shows Brian the remote that allows him access to different parallel universes, each depicting Quahog in the same time and place, but under different conditions. For example, the first one that they went to was a very futuristic version of Quahog because Christianity was never created. They travel to different worlds as a demonstration, but having never traveled to more than one other parallel universe Stewie is unaware of how to return them home.

Brian is set to return until they reach a universe where humans are subservient to dogs, and changes his mind. An argument between the two results in them destroying the remote, trapping them in this universe, so they head on to the universe's Griffin family (who are all dogs) to find a solution. They discover that Dog Stewie has also invented the same remote. But while Dog Stewie was getting the remote, Stewie bites Dog Peter and is sent to the human pound, where he would be euthanized. Brian, Dog Stewie, and Human Brian go to the human pound, free Stewie, and sends him and Brian back to their universe. Human Brian, tired of living a harsh life under dogs, goes with them, but gets hit by a car before he can achieve any of his goals.

Cleveland tells his friends that he has lost ownership of his house to his ex-wife Loretta and gained custody of their son, Cleveland Jr., and begins to worry about his future. After Peter (once again) destroys the front of Cleveland's house while he's in the tub, Cleveland decides he has finally had enough of everyone around him hogging all the attention and shenanigans, so he moves out of Quahog with Junior to California to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a professional minor league baseball scout.

Along the way, the two decide to stop off at Cleveland's old hometown of Stoolbend, Virginia where Cleveland runs into his old high school crush, Donna, who agrees to let him stay at her house for a few days. There he meets her philanderous five-year-old son Rallo and her irresponsible teenage daughter Roberta, as well as her neighbors: a redneck named Lester, a hipster wannabe named Holt, and an anthropomorphic bear named Tim. He also learns that Donna had divorced her no-good husband Robert, who was her boyfriend during high school, leaving her unable to handle caring for her children properly. Cleveland promises to set her children straight before he continues on his way.

Cleveland threatens Roberta's equally negligent boyfriend Federline Jones into bringing her home on curfew and gets Rallo back in school after he was expelled for looking up his teacher's skirt, and begins to fall in love with Donna all over again. Donna thanks Cleveland for all his work and decides her children need a man back in her family's life; however, instead of choosing Cleveland, she gets back together with Robert.

Dejected, Cleveland leaves for California early with Cleveland Jr., but Junior convinces Cleveland to get back together with Donna. Cleveland returns to profess his love for Donna and helps her see that Robert is still not the man her family needs. Donna realizes Cleveland is right and leaves Robert for him.

Cleveland and Donna later get married, and the two families accept each other into their lives.

American Dad
Season 5, Episode 1: In Country Club
In The Country Club
Steve has been chosen to sing the national anthem at the veteran's fair. However, he sings it with little passion, leading Stan to believe that the only way he can truly appreciate the national anthem is by experiencing war. Stan signs them both up for a Vietnam War re-enactment held at a local country club's golf course. Upon enlisting, Steve is immediately put on guard duty but he falls asleep, allowing the Vietnamese to attack their base and capture Stan. Steve goes in on a mission to rescue his father and succeeds. But later, while singing the national anthem at the fair, fireworks are lighted, sending Steve into a "war" flashback. This causes Steve to be committed to a mental hospital. Later, Steve escapes from the hospital as the doctor questions a limbless man named John Q. Mind (voiced by male pornographic actor Randy Spears) on how he opened the curtain. He uses his psychic powers to knock her into the wall as "Mind Quad" goes to commercial. Steve returns to the country club where the re-enactment took place (in a parody of First Blood). He interrupts the golfing, at which a patron tries convincing him to leave, only for Steve to snap again when he sees a spinning sprinkler, thinking of a helicopter and holes up in the golf cart shed. Stan comes in to apologize for pushing him too far and tells him that he can sing the way he wants to. Unfortunately, Steve sings the anthem in an excited mode while wearing a unitard; Stan tells a fellow veteran that he's his neighbor's son.

Meanwhile, Roger wants to gain the code to the Pay-per-view channel to see Barbra Streisand sing the songs of Celine Dion. However, Stan refuses to give it to him (he agreed when he thought it was $4.99, instead it was $499). So Roger joins the Vietnamese side of the reenactment as Stan's warden, interrogating him while he was captured; he tortures Stan by reading the first draft of the Sex and the City film. When Stan gives him a fake code, Hayley soon gives him the real code, in exchange for setting free an Ortolan Bunting, a rare bird, he was planning on cooking and eating. However, he gives her Klaus dressed as the bird. As Roger watches his show, he eats the bird and is so overwhelmed that he experiences the alien equivalent of a DMT trip.

As the credits are rolling, the "Mind Quad" part of the episode returns as a man wearing a black trenchcoat runs into the hospital room. The doctor tells him that John has escaped. The man reveals that John's limbs were not blown off of his body, but into his mind, giving him telekinetic powers. The man vows to catch John as we see John using his mind powers to ride a motorcycle towards the Pentagon.

Lee shows the Young house to the new family, the Bolens, but Angie demands to know what the problem with the house is so he informs them of Mary Alice's suicide, but she is completely unaffected by it so they buy the house. Angie reveals that their son Danny was the reason they moved to Wisteria Lane. Danny watches out the window as Susan welcomes Julie back.

Six Weeks Before the Wedding

While waiting to see the gynecologist, Lynette makes a young mother-to-be cry by warning her about all the negative things that will happen to her after the child is born because she needs to be prepared. Bree is horrified with the motel room so she has Karl take her sheet shopping. Karl believes Bree does not want the affair but she insists she does. Susan's wedding dress arrives but because she is not home, the delivery man has Katherine sign for it. Susan returns home to find that the dress is with Katherine. When she goes to retrieve it, she is surprised to find Katherine wearing it. Susan tells her to take it off, but Katherine taunts her by leaning over a pot of boiling red sauce. Mike is worried about Katherine but Susan is sick of Katherine because she is tired of feeling like the other woman. Gaby discovers that Ana snuck out to go to a new dance club and after bringing her home she signs the papers officially making her Ana's legal guardian, 24/7. As Mrs. McCluskey is walking home she sees Julie arguing with Danny.

One Day Before the Wedding

Orson feels that he and Bree should see the pastor for some counseling, but she wants a divorce. Bree tells Orson that she is no longer his wife, but his captive. Orson feels bad but tells her that sometimes guilt is a small price to pay for happiness. While Lynette is getting a sonogram, Tom is getting more and more excited about the pregnancy. Lynette tells Tom that she loved the other kids the moment she knew they were coming, but it is different this time as she doesn't love these babies. Tom reassures her that once she holds them in arms, she will love them as much as the others.

The Wedding

As Bree is walking to the church, she sees Karl drive up so she gets in his car and tells him to meet her at a hotel and she has already prepared the room the way she wants it. While Susan is getting ready for her wedding, Katherine shows up and blames Susan for never bothering to see how she was doing and apologize. Katherine demands that Susan make a public apology during the ceremony otherwise, she will make an ugly scene that will have everyone talking for years to come. Susan agrees, but then she kicks Katherine into a closet and locks the door. While the ceremony is coming to a close, Katherine manages to break the door down and we return to the point where Mike and Susan run into her in the aisle. Mike threatens to drag Katherine out of the church himself if she doesn't leave. Just as Katherine starts to walk out, Susan grabs a microphone and makes a heart-felt apology. When they hug, Susan asks if that helped her and Katherine whispers that it didn't. Then she storms out, declaring war against Susan. Angie is worried that Danny is still not home so she tells Nick to go look for him. After she unzips her dress, a huge scar is revealed on her lower back. That same night, as Julie takes out the recyclables, a stranger comes up behind her and starts strangling her, then throws her on the ground leaving her for dead.
